Sensitizing Effect of Oxazine on the Photoluminescence of Cyclodextrin-Modified Carbon Nanotubes

A composite of oxazine and cyclodextrin-modified carbon nanotubes (CNT-CDs) was prepared to enhance the photoluminescence of carbon nanotubes. The results show that there is a sensitizing effect of oxazine on the photoluminescence of CNT-CDs, which is probably due to energy transfer between organic molecule and CNT-CDs. However, no sensitizing effect on the photoluminescence of CNT with carboxyl groups (CNT-COOHs) was observed. Therefore, it can be deduced that the cyclodextrin moiety plays an important role in the sensitizing process. Additionally, the luminescence of the composite decreases with increasing oxazine concentration and is quenched by Cu ions.
